Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My x's and I's child support order is in Il. We now live in FL. I am in the process of getting it transferred through the state. Can he go to IL and file for child Support modification there to hold things up here in FL? What happens if he does this? Do I have to travel to IL for a court date?

He could. Instead of going through DOR, which, I suppose, is what you mean by "getting it transferred," use a private it lawyer and have your child support order registered or domesticated in Florida immediately. Using a private lawyer is much faster than using DOR. I can usually file a child support registration or domestication within a day or two of speaking with someone for the first time.
