Legal Question in Medical Leave in Florida
Care for child with chronic illness
My husband is employed by a well known company. It is often necessary for him to take time off to help care for our son who has sickle cell disease. Each time this happens he is given a hard time upon returning to work by his supervisors, managers,etc... Is there anything that can be done under the Family Medical Leave Act to stop this? He has provided letters from our son's doctors, nurses and his social worker for each occurence. Is it really necessary for him to keep going through this? If not, what can be done to garantee that it doesn't?

Employer can't retaliate against employee that takes FMLA. Did he take intermittent leave? What kind of actions were taken against him? Depending upon what was done, he may merely want to report it to Human Resources, in writing, or might want to bring suit if he has actual damages.
