Legal Question in Medical Leave in Florida
I am diagnosed with depression and have had a lot of stress in the last six months, including my childrens father shooting himself and my son overdosing (they both survived), but recently my children's father (we are not married, but have lived together for 21 years) broke his hip. I am really in need of taking some time off of work because of all of this, but my question is whether it would be in my best interest to ask for time off due to my depression or due to my children's father needing my help or both reasons?

if you are seeking to benefit from FMLA protection then you should seek time off for the reason that your doctor says you should take it.
