Legal Question in Medical Leave in Florida
Leave Ran Out
I was injured in a car accident, and my Physician will not release me to go back to work yet. My Family and Medical Leave has run out. Can my employer lay me off, even though I have not been released to return to work, due to medical problems from the accident?

I assume your car accident had nothing to do with work or work related duties. That said, after you have exhausted your family medical leave act the employer does not have to hold your job for your return. The short answer is yes they can terminate your employment. If you have health insurance, they have to offer you continued coverage under COBRA. Sorry not to give you the answer you wanted.
