manditory vacations on fmla

during fmla,does my employer have the option to have,(make,mandate)me use the vactions i have accrued the previous year?

situation: i was involved in an auto accident 1/05/00

it caused me to be out of work for three weeks.damage was to my chest and knees, i was under orthopaedic care during this time.opon returning to work i was told i had to use my vaction time except for one week. i responded "i don't need or won't to take vac during that time"

employers response"it was not my(employee)option"

The short answer is yes. An employer can, subject to certain conditions, choose to use an employee's accrued vacation or sick leave to cover any required FMLA leave.
