Legal Question in Medical Leave in Florida

Let go while on Maternity Leave

I was on maternity leave and two weeks before I was to come back to work I was notified that I was being let go from my position I recieved 1 month severence pay and they told me my insurance would be paid as it was then until December 31, 2004. I unfortunately did not get a copy of my termination slip that said all of that. I applied for unemployment because to date I have not found a job. It has been denied because it says that I left my job willingly because of medical problems that I was having but I have proof that I got a month paycheck almost a month and a half after my last day of work. Please advise me of what action I am entitled to take. Thanks

You may have a gender discrimination/pregnancy discrimination claim. Additionally, if your employer has 50 employees or more within a 75 mile radius, you may have a case under the Family and Medical Leave Act. You should consult with an attorney immediately.
