Legal Question in Medical Leave in Florida

I had a work related injury on August 3, 2010--fell on my right knee and I'm waiting for authorization to have surgery to fix the meniscus which is torn. The Ortho doctor appointment was September 8th, 2010. Dr. Gutentag is the doctor that is suppose to do surgery. I have called Workman's Comp at least three to four times a week. They don't return my calls. I need this surgery, I have to work and don't want to lose my place in my job which is 7p-7a Sat and Sun. I start school in Jan 2011. Help! Kim Rose ** Question: Is it possible for an attorney to write a letter to my company's insurance (Gallager-Bassett) to push them into making an authorization for my meniscusotomy? I am in so much pain and discomfort; I just don't know what to do anymore.
