Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

I am 17 years of age right now and i am currently going out with a 15 year old. My birthday is February and i will be turning 18. She will be turning 16 4 months after. Is this a problem or can i work around this. I live in Florida

If you are doing anything sexual, yes, it can be a problem.You can work around it by going out with someone your own age instead of a ninth or tenth grader.

When she turns 16, it will no longer be a problem in the state of FL.

Also, there is the "romeo and juliet law" which basically is a judicial creation and can allow a convicted child sex offender to have the requirement of lifetime sex offender registration removed IF both kids were under 18 at the time of the act, and they were within 5 years of age to each other. I'm not saying that applies here, but I just wanted to throw that out there so you know where you stand.

16 is the age of consent in FL. At 15, she is "jail bait." Either wait to date her or find a more age-appropriate girlfriend.
