Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

My 16 y/o daughter was punched in the face by another 16 y/o girl. The assault was unprovoked by my daughter and there were many witnesses. Her nose has been "deviated" but as of now requires no further medical procedures. She has missed 2 days of school, due to doctor appointments, and counseling for emotional issues related to this event. The local PD has cited the other child with 1st degree misdemeanor. Sjould we file for an injunction, and do we have any other legal rights we should pursue (i.e. doctor bills, pain & suffering, emotional distress)?

Most likely, the charges will be all you need. As part of any resolution of the juvenile proceeding, request all medical bills be paid. You may want to contact the child's school to see what sanctions it will enforce if any. There may be a claim against the homeowner's insurance of the parents of the girl.
