Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

Abandoning personal property

My Ex-boyfriend left FL to go back to NY last November without telling me. After he arrived in NY he said he was not returning to FL and was going to attend school in January 2003. The apartment was in his name and everything in it was his. He said I could keep all of his personal property. I offered to pay him for it and he refused saying I could just have everything. I signed the new lease this past January. Now he has moved back to FL and is demanding I return all of his things. He gave everything to me, can he make me give it back after an oral agreement that I could keep it all?

Re: Abandoning personal property

If you have no proof or witnesses it is your word against his. The fact that you kept it for these many months should work in your favor.
