Sue the sheriff's department for what? You didn't explain what happened.

Did your spouse, an employee of the sheriff's department, have an affair, or did your spouse have an affair with an employee of the sheriff's department? If so, what did the sheriff's department do wrong? Sounds like they forbid adultery.
