Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida
Hi, I really need some advise. About 2 months ago I was moving out of my condo and rented a moving truck in my name. When I rented the truck I never signed any contract with them. The person who was there did not know how to rent out a truck but did anyway and pretty much just gave me the keys. They had my name and info because of the reservation and the manager did the paperwork when he went in but I never signed anything stating that I am responsible for any damages done by the truck or that I would be the only one driving it. Well the space to back the moving truck in was very tight and I did not trust myself to back it in. Against my better judgement I trusted a friend to park it in for me. Well he crashed it into an overhang and part of it got severely bent. Nothing happened to the moving truck and was returned fine. Now he feels like he is not responsible for the damage to the overhang and does not want to pay which is falling on his cousin who was renting the condo. I also found out that he has a suspended licence. I have 8 witnesses proving that he crashed into the overhang. Who would be responsible for paying these damages? Thank you for your help - Robert

The owner of the truck, youm, and the driver are responsible for the damage. Call you insurance co,
You are responsible to the truck rental company. The driver of the truck is responsible to you. Two law suits or joinder of the suits.
