Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

Answering a counterclaim

When answer a counter complaint, do you have to use Plaintiff/Counter-Defendant and can you just juse Plaintiff instead of the lengthy version.... Same question for discovery, motions, etc. Thanks
