Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

I'm not sure what area of expertise this falls under or if this question can be answered on this site. A lawsuit has been filed against me pertaining to real estate property that was purchased by a third party, received the paperwork today. The plaintiff states there was misrepresentation and fraud. He wants to recoup for monies promised, and damaged credit.. There isn't anything in writing pertaining to me except for me receiving an assignment fee, so the lawsuit makes note that this is a verbal claim. The allegations are that I was more involved and I was intentionally trying to mislead him for the sole purpose of stealing from him. This happened back in 2006 at the height of the bubble. The properties have since gone into foreclosure. The property is in FL, and that is where the lawsuit originated. Since I have 20 days to the circuit court, can a lawyer through prepaid legal services be able to write a rebuttal for me, or would I be better off just getting a lawyer in FL? Also what area of law should the lawyer specialize in?

Only an attorney admitted in Florida can represent you in the Florida courts. Accordingly, it will depend upon your prepaid legal service's counsel. You should seek someone with real estate litigation experience. We have experience in that area.
