Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

Ex boyfriend, bills, and gifts

Okay, my ex-ex boyfriend and I have been broken up for about a year now. I had my cell phone added to his account because I couldn't get approved for anything, so I never signed for anything. He keeps hounding me for the last bill, because I took my number off his account. While I do plan to pay him back when I get the money, it will take a while to have the extra money to spare, is there anything he can do legally, since my name was not on the account anywhere?

Also, he just emailed me and said he wants ''his'' tv back and to let him know when he can pick it up. He bought his grandfather a tv when we were together, and gave to me the one that it replaced, as a gift, we were not living together or anything. Does he have any right to take it back? Isn't that considered the same as bday or Xmas gifts?

Thanks!

Re: Ex boyfriend, bills, and gifts

He can sue you for your charges on the cell phone bill. That your name is not on the account is irrelevant as between you and him. The phone company can't get $$ from you, but if you agreed to pay him your phone charges, you owe him that amount. he could bring a claim in small claims court. Just start paying him a little at a time and he probably won't. make sure you and he agree on the amount owed.

as for the TV, if he gave it to you, he cannot "undo" a gift.
