Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida
My boyfriend and I are ending our relationship. About two years ago we bought a car together and would like to either keep the car or get what I have paid and traded into the car back. He doesn't drive the car or have his full license. I am the only one paying for the insurance. My name is on the loan and on the title. What can I do?

Ending a relationship is similar to a divorce, but without the statutes and case law that guide that type of case. So selling and dividing this asset (and any other that you may own together) by order of a court can be tricky.
My best suggestion is to try and get your boyfriend's cooperation as much as possible. Although it may be difficult, it could literally save you thousands of dollars in attorneys fees and many hours in litigation.
If you are unable to work together for any reason, you should consult with an attorney that handles general civil litigation in your area. Best of luck.
