Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

I am a Canadian citizen, residing in Canada. A hospital in Florida claims that I owe them a few thousand dollars, which I dispute. I have been advised that, if I travel in the United States, I can be detained by the police for non-payment of this claim. Is this correct?
