Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

Car Fire Damage

A tenant in my building car caught on fire while parked during the night, the primary and secondary vehicle was totaled, my son's car received damges on the left driver's side. We are only covered for PIP insurance, the primary car insurance company claims they are investigating what is our recourse, if the insurance company chooses not to pay.

Re: Car Fire Damage

The problem here may be in proving that the owner did anything negligent. If tyhe owner was negligent, you can sue him or her. If the car just caught on fire, then there is a defesct in the car and you may be able to bring a claim against the car manufacturer. If a vandal set the car on fire, you are out of luck. You need to find the cause of the fire.
