Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

Two Cases

A Powerful lawyer files a case in October. The case is ongoing. In January files a new case, with a new Judge. (Both Circuit Civil)

Can one Plaintiff file two cases against one Defendant in two different judges in the same courthouse?

Re: Two Cases

Depending on the specific facts of each case, probably. The subject matter of the two lawsuits must not be related. Otherwise, if the second suit is "inextricably intertwined" and arises out of the same operative facts as the first, it would have to be part of the original suit.
