Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

my child's father broke my car door and busted my window with his bare hands because i was going through his phone. he claims if i file charges against him he's going to tell the police I hit him with the car which i didnt. he did not call the police or an ambulance. there is no report of that and no witnesses. what are my options?

options:

1. Call police and report the crime

2. Do nothing and pay for the window.
