Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida
Civil Fraud
There is a relationship between two parties, so-called ''friends''. One person solicited money from the other on the pretext that it was owed to a check cashing facility. The hook was that if it was not paid, the person would go to jail, thus playing on the sympathies of the victim. The victim did not give the money. Some time passed and the subject then stated that they were in jail because they were unable to pay. A check of the publicly available arrest records did not show the subject to be incarereated as claimed. The subject continues to request money, alledgedly so they can avoid additional jail time. When called on it, the subject denies everything and suggests the victim is incorrect and in need of professional help. What can be done?

Re: Civil Fraud
Be done about what? You did not give any money to your "friend." Your "friend" seems to be a compulsive liar and you know it. Ask him or her to stop. Cease communications. The judicial system is not designed to solve this problem among "friends."
