Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

Cobra

My company went out of business in

Aug of this year and I signed up for

COBRA now I am told they have

completely closed and my COBRA is

only good through this month. I pay

$342.00 a month to keep the

coverage I had with my company.

Now I have heard since they are

completely out of business I will have

to contact the ins. company and pay

more for this coverage. I found this

out though speaking with another

co-worker. I was told the company

does not have to inform us of this. Is

this true. My COBRA was to go

through 2-09 but now what am I to

do?

Re: Cobra

Contact the insurance company. What you must pay the company for coverage would be governed by federal ERISA laws and your contract with your employer and the insurance company.
