Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

co-signer on repo

When my daughter was 18, one month after her graduation her father convinced her that it would be a good idea if she co-signed for him on a car loan. This car was his only and he eventually had it reposessed. It's been a couple of years and now the bank with attorneys are threatening to sue my daughter for $16,000.00. Is there any way to fight this?

Re: co-signer on repo

Thanks, dad! There does not appear from your facts to be any way to avoid the debbt to the bank. Your daughter can and probably should sue dad for the debt.
