Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida
A couple signed an application to rent our property for 3 months, paid the 1st month, and after 3 days moved out and want their money back. It cost us more than one month rent to get it ready to rent. We had to pay application fees, taxes, and commission to the person who rents out the properties here. Do I have to return their money?

Your agreement with them controls. What does that document say? you need it to be reviewed by an attorney. Chances are you are entitled to some portion of the money which was paid due to your damages incurred and the fact that theproperty has been off the market. You do have an obligation to make a good faith effort to rerent it during this gap period as well.
