Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

Court Order from Out of state

Is a court order, delivered by mail from New York state enforceable in the state of Florida? The case is a general civil liability case, and would involve costs for travel that I cannot afford. I am not a subject of this suit but apparently am considered a witness. The case is five years old and I dont remember all that much about it if anything.

I think you are referring to a subpoena. An out of state subpoena has no effect and you need not respond.

I think you are referring to a subpoena, not a court order. Regardless, contact the attorneys for the parties and let them know that you don't know anything. They may take you off of the witness list.
