Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

My daughter worked at Walgreens. She bought something and then didn't want. It was buy one get one free. When she returned it they gave her store credit for both so she got $20 more back then she should have. A few weeks later they called her in and asked for the money back, and she did. Then she was fired. now she get a letter from a law firm asking for $200 at first and now it gone up to $475. They say they can do this by law statute 772.11 . I have read that if she paid back the $20 when she was told about it that is all she has to pay. Is this true?

Yes, unfortunately, it is true. Maybe a settlement can be negotiated. Otherwise your daughter could be held liable for the $475 or more.
