Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida
use of dead husband's name on festival products without consent by wife
My sister went to a regional festival and saw the name of her dead husband on the festival ball caps, and his initials on a picture of him on the festival t-shirts. There was a tribute to him and a mention of his name in the festival program. My sister was not aware that this was going to happen and did not give consent. Is this just a lack of courtesy on behalf of the festival promoter, who incidentally is a lawyer, or are there legal implications?
She was not aware at all that this was going to happen and was quite distressed.

Re: use of dead husband's name on festival products without consent by wife
Before providing any guidance on the issues, one would need to know what kind of festival you are referring to, whether the husband was a public firgure and other facts surrounding the tribute. Unless the actions taken by the promoter were clearly outrageous, your sister may not have much of a claim.
