Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida
Dog bite(s)
What are the owners of a dog that bit someone liable for (they have homeowners insurance). They were told that they are liable for medical expenses. How far does this go? Does the insurance company provide the attorney for them and if a settlement is reached, is anything that arises after the settlement is agreed upon, are they liable for that? Also, because the person that was bitten is a tenant and was warned not to step into the fenced-in yard unless they were contact first and did not do so, would this make a difference in the outcome? Are the owners liable for the tenant's legal fees?

Re: Dog bite(s)
If the landlord has insurance, they will not have to pay anything. The insurance carrier must be notified of the incident immediately.
