Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida
Establishing a not -for-profit identity
I am forming 2 volunteer groups in Orlando FL. Both of these groups will require a name for recruitment and advertising only, neither will have any officers, bank accounts or funds of any kind. They will not charge any dues or fees of any kind. How can I establish names for these groups? Must I search a registry to see if the name is already taken? Is a fictitious name affidavit enough to protect my name? Anything else I should know? (One group is an Animal Assisted Therapy group, the other is Environmental Activism.)
