Do the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure eliminate the possibility of being suprised by evidence by evidence at trial, and, is the "Perry Mason dramatic moment a thing of the past?

The Perry Mason dramatic moment does not exist. That was made for television. Kind of like the Dukes of Hazard.

Sarah's right. The theory of the rules is that cases should be decided on the facts as opposed to last minute surprises.
