how to file a lien to recover a personaL LOAN

a person owes me $2000 on a personal debt and bot showinh any inclination to pay back. Would like to know procedure to file liens on his personal property. Thanx frank

You will need to sue him and get a judgment before you can get a lien. The forms to do so are at the county courthouse. It is often difficult in Florida to collect on a judgment because of the many laws that protect the assets of debtors.

You will need to file suit against the party in the county court. Once you get a judgment, you will need to record a certified copy in the public records. The judgment will serve as a lien against his personal property.

If you are a contractor, then you can file a lien. Otherwise, these guys are correct and you'll have to sue first. Might try small claims.
