i believe that one of my family members has been getting loans as well as other things in my name with out my knowledge. I filed a police report for one of the loans and that situation is under investigation. My credit is bad because of these things.What is the next step I should take?

I cannot answer legally, but you should defintiely (1) pull your credit report;
(2) Advise all of the credit card companies about your situation, and consider closing the accounts that are not yours and ask the credit card companies what you should do, which will probably be to close those accounts as well, and re-open new ones.
(3) The credit card companies usually have protection against theft, but they will insist that you prosecute the offender. So if you do claim theft, understand, there is an extremely high chance that the credit card company will have you sign an affidavit and that you will be forced to prosecute the offender.
