Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida
I have a friend who gave a boat to someone, but that person did not register it in their name. A few months later, my friend found out that there was a warrant out for his arrest. Today, he stood trial and was convicted of a first degree misdeamor although he had sufficient evidence to prove his case...I was wondering what are his options as an American citizen? Can he file an appeal? Can he request another judge to try him? He is going in on the 14th of this month for sentencing.

Whether he is an American Citizen or not is irrelevant to your question. He can appeal, but there is nothing in your question to determine if there are any grounds for an appeal or not. You can file a motion for new trial -- but I see no grounds for that. Unless the trial is appealed and reversed, you don't get a "do over" with the same or another judge. It seems like there was not enough evidence to defeat the state's case.
