Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

I helped a friend out by purchasing a computer on credit in my name for him and for the 1st 6 months he was paying on it but then completely stopped paying on it and I have contacted him numerous times about this and he still hasn't made anymore payments on it and now it is in collections ruining my credit. Is there any way that I can legally take the computer back since it is in my name?

You will need to sue your friend in small claims court if he or she is unwilling to surrender the computer to you. You will need to sue under breach of contract and that you have a security interest in the computer. See www.ConsumerLawyerHelp.com

I agree that you should take him to small claims court. Go to your local court's website for forms. Regards,
