Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

Inforcing amended income deduction order

My daughters father owes me over $30,000 in back support. I have a court ordered income deduction. After much searching,I finally found where he is working at, but his employer says that he will not honor the IDO because my X is is a subcontractor. He does receive weekly pay. Is there anything I can do?

THANK YOU.

Re: Inforcing amended income deduction order

To enforce your IDO, I would file a Motion with the Court and have the judge determine if the defense is valid. If it isnt, the contractor would ouw you the support retroactively to the date you first served him with the IDO. I think it would be a good idea to obtain a civil writ of garnishment at the same time. While you're at it,haul the bum in for contempt for failure to pay his child support. Hire a lawyer.
