Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

I was an investor in a business and part of my investment was to purchase furniture for the office. The office was closing and the owner contacted me stating that the manager got an offer to buy the furniture. I agreed on a flat price of 2K or a payment plan of 2,500 at 500 per month. I advised that I would like the purchaser to sign an agreement. The owner contacted me a few weeks later stating that the manager allowed the buyer to get the furniture but did not receive payment , she apparently knew the person and took their word for it.

The manager offered to pay me back for her mistake. The sale supposedly occured in June, I have only received $200.

What is my recourse?

You can file an action in county court to recover the balance of what is owed to you. Was your agreement with the owner written down or was it an oral agreement? To consult with me further regarding your case, email me at [email protected] or call me at (813)951-6187.
