Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

What Law Practice Would this be under

What type of law practice would I contact to advise me on the following situation:

I bought a house in Sept 1998. It has a major flaw in construction which has prevented me from refinancing it at a lower rate, as well as a shorter term. If I were able to refinance, I would save over $65K over the next 20 years and have equity of $20K. Also, when the contractor renders a fix, I will lose approximately $3,200 in lease fees. Can I sue my contractor for my monetary losses? What kind of law would this suit be filed under?

Thank you for your time!

You would contact a construction law litigation attorney. Contractors can be liable for structural deficiencies but this also sounds like it could be a design problem. I would have to see the contract, plans and get more information. Please feel free to give me a call at 941-954-4691 or email me.
