Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida
can a lawyer change his fee
from 2004-2008 my lawyer has stated many times that my fee would be 33 1/3, the last letter I received from him was the closing he settled without interest when I was suppose to get interest he settle without telling me. But also stated his fee was now 40% I have not signed the letter. Can he do this?

Look at your original retainer agreement.

Look at your original contract (if it is not in writing a contingency fee is not permissible). If liability was denied after a suit was filed, then almost always the fee is 40%
