Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida
Left Me Standing In The Cold!!
An ex live-in man borrowed thousands of dollars over several months, then he promised to purchase me a beautiful home, talked me into investing an initial $25,000 to secure this $1,250,000.00 home and then he did not follow thru, therefore I lost my $25,000. He has since vanished. I have a letter from him stating he owes me, however I can't find him. I desperately need my money, I am single with 16 yr. old twins. Do I have any rights, can I sue him for my money, what kind of attorney would I get, how much would it cost??? Need advice and HELP PLEASE!!! THANK YOU!

Yes, you can sue him. Keep that letter, you may need it. You will need to prove what you gave him and that it was a loan, not a gift.
Your biggest problem will be to force him to pay. Florida is an easy place to live and to owe people money.
If you can, get him to sign a proimissory note. You will need to find him; use whatever source you can find (friends, his family, jobs, etcetera).
Good Luck.
