Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

what should i do?

really need some legal advice in regards to my current situation. I purchased a car about 3 months now. Recently as life takes us on our ups and downs I was late on my car insurance. My starting giving me mechanical problems so I took it back to my dealer to get fixed. In the mist of everything I called my dealer to check on the status of the car and he told me that the car was ready but he now has to hold it b/c my insurance was getting cancelled that day. I advised him that I spoke to the insurance company and was making my payment on Monday. From there he told me to call him on Monday once I spoke with my ins. company again. That Monday I called my dealer for him to tell me he's not giving me back my car. He said I signed a waiver saying that he can take the car if I was late on an insurance payment or if it was cancelled. I feel like he's misleading me or something b/c he told me to call him on Monday instead of the nonsense from before. He's telling me that his partners have the car and don't want to release it unless I want to pay the car in full. I dont understand how he tells me on Monday and then when that day comes and tells me that he can't do so. I wasn't late on my car note so is there anything that I can do or a wa

Re: what should i do?

He does not have a right to keep the car. Go in and see him. Don't let them do this. You may need to get a lawyer, but he shuld not get to keep the car.
