Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

Legality Celeb Tennis Photos in Club Display

I photograph Professional Tennis players at tournaments as a freelance photographer. Photos also include former President of US (#41) playing tennis at Charity events. Photos do not depict person(s) in bad light

A local club wants to display my photos at the club to promote tennis interest. It is possible some members may want to purchase them (I can live with this or without this aspect).

Am I on sound legal ground in permitting these photos to be used in this display? If yes, Is it ok to sell them??

I DO NOT have releases of those depicted in photographs.

I don't want the Club or myself in legal jeopardy.

Just trying to do the right thing! Thanks Jay

I see no problem as long as you are not using the photos for commercial selling of a product.

Since the club wants to use the photos, why don't you suggest that they secure releases from the people whose photos are involved, and that way you will be covered.
