Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

Lent car to friend..never got back!

I lent a car to a friend to use freely for a few months given she had no transportation and was active in volunteering and social work. She lives in Miami and at that time I was traveling back and forth between Miami and New Orleans. Months later, I called her to tell her I wanted to ship the car to Louisiana, only to be told the car was ''lost''. Her story was that the car broke down, she left the keys at the front desk at work and told AAA to pick it up. According to her AAA dropped the car at the wrong location and it was never seen again. This happened months ago and she never called, she said she ''lost my number''. I called Miami police-they told me that this is a domestic type of situation-since I lent her the car and she ordered a tow-it couldnt be reported stolen. I mailed her the title and registration so she could try to resolve it with AAA, but I never heard back from her. 12 months later, I havent been compensated for the car and I figured she dosent care at this point. I told her I was half the value of the car ($3300) or I would sue her for the full amount. In all this time she didnt update me with AAA so that I could pursue it myself. Do I have a good case in court, small claims in FL?

Re: Lent car to friend..never got back!

Sue her. Easy case. You lent her the care and she failed to return it.
