Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida
Liens on Property for non payment
Our pool company has many outstanding invoices that we have tried to collect on. Can we place a lien on a property for non payment of these invoices? If so, how is this done properly?

Re: Liens on Property for non payment
There are only two ways, to my knowledge, to obtain a lien. One is to comply with the mechanics lien law, which is far too long a discussion to get into in this limited space. It requires various steps. I am frankly surprised your business attorney hasn't already made you do so. The second is to sue and obtain a judgment lien or equitable lien. A third would be to ask them to give you one, but obviously that isn't going to happen. If you wish to discuss either option, please call me to set an appointment. Thank you.
