Are you a party (plaintiff or defendant) in the lawsuit? If so, you may have to appear or explore the possibility that the court in Maryland does not have jurisdiction over you. If not a party but just a witness, the rules regarding taking your depo will be governed by Maryland Rules of Civil Procedure. The party subpoenaing your depo testimony may have to take your depo in FL, but I don't know the Maryland Rules. Consult a Maryland attorney.
