Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida
I live in FL and I have a judgement against me and I lost my cdl because of the judgement. I co signed for my step son on his 17th birthday to get a car, he had an accident when he was 19yrs old totalling the other persons vehicle he was faulted. He refuse to pay because he had let his own issurance lasped so they came after me since my name was still as part owner. He is not living here he is California. How can make I hold him accountable for not living up to his responsibility financially. He has held a full time job since he was 17 yrs.old Can this type of judgement be dismissed in banchruptcy. The total amount of the judgement is $32,000.00 They had only wanted him to pay only $7,000.00 since he refuses to corporate now they want the full amount. He is now 20 yrs.old
