Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

I live in Florida. I was engaged to a man for a short time. He insisted on purchasing an engagement ring. It came with an appraisial of 45,000.00 I had it appraised for 14,000.00

he paid 7,000.00. One week after the engagement we broke up (his call). Then two days later begged me to take the ring and marry him. Then he started accusing me of wanting my ex-husband back and I broke it off. He emailed me and said he didn't want the ring. Then emailed me wanting the ring and threatening to sue me. I need to know if I have to give the ring back?

A ring is given in contemplation of marriage and contingent thereof. Since there was no marriage, you can't keep the ring. The e-mail might be an abandonment, but I doubt it. Go ahead and give it back. Why would you want it except for spite?

Yes, you must give back the engagement ring. Sorry.
