Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida
Live in Jacksonville, FL. Am in process of filing counter complaint to civil court complaint acting pro se. Can not determine if summons needs to be filed or how summons needs to be served? As individual acting as own representation how does one find server or is it part of court filing?

If you the defendant and have a right or court authorization to file a counter claim, you don't need to serve it other than by mail to the plaintiff or the plaintiff's attorney. there would be no summons under those circumstances. that is a general rule and your claim may require different action. you need to discuss it with an attorney. if you need to serve the document you use the sheriff or a process server.
You raise your Counterclaim separately in the written answer to the complaint. No Summons required. Make sure you file a copy with the court.
