Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

I live in seminole county florida, i am trying to short sale my condo gave the banks a short sale way back in march of this year, i was served in july civil action summons a lawsuit was filed against me from the bank forclosing on my condo....i have an attorney friend of a friend look at the paperwork served me and he said they were a mess no copy of my note or an assignability of mortgage. i am going to mediation thursday this week but before that i was going to file a motion to compel the note but i called the circuit court to find out rules of proceedure in my jurisdiction and she had no clue...how much time a litigant has to respond to discovery before you can move to comel the production of this document...i need to know if it is soo late this week to do it or if it had to be done when i was served back in july?
