Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

When living together goes bad

My girlfriend/lover moved in with me 6 months ago. I own this home and there is no rental agreement for this roommate. We simply do not get along and fight all the time. After several verbal attempts to ask her to move out she refuses to leave. Is there any law preventing me to have her move out immediately? Do I need to give her notification in writing? Is there any Florida Laws on this subject? I would like to refrain from having any police encounters

You need to be careful that she gets a restraining order against you for the "verbal fights" - that could prevent you from living in the house. I would tell her it is time to go, ask her to leave, give her plenty of time to move her stuff (I would supervise her if I were you) and let her go. You could provide a letter and have her sign it that she received the letter and understood the letter to leave.

Best of luck.

If she does not leave voluntarily, you need to file an eviction action (lawsuit) against her and obtain a final judgment for possession. The final judgment for possession will allow you to have the sheriff oversee the removal of her personal property out of your home, and then you'll need to change all locks to all doors to your home. Your girlfriend/lover appears to be mentally unstable --- watch your back and good luck.
