Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida
We moved into this rental 4 months ago, as the summer came we noticed that the a/c was too small for this house. The temperature was routinely in the 80's. We tried getting the MGMT company to fix it, but they said they cannot get a hold of the owners who were in Costa Rica, and the MGMT company was not going to pay there own money to fix it. This went on for a couple months. I then decided that we needed to get out of our heat and decided to go to Orlando for a few days. After leaving, my son had a massive seizure in the car. I took him out, called 911 and an ambulance took him to the ER. They determined that he had pneumonia, and we couldn't detect the symptoms because they were sudden before the seizure, My son was not around any people following the seizure, so he couldn't have caught it from anybody. It is my guess that he caught it from being in the constant heat since the MGMT company did not want to fix it or move us elsewhere. I do not now if I have a case or not, but hopefully someone can let me know. I appreciate your time and look forward to your response.

You are asking lawyers, not medical doctors. You must see doctors to diagnose pneumonia or other illness. Only medical experts could say whether prolonged heat exposure caused your son's illness.
Even if heat caused your son's illness, according to your own statements, you may be criminally negligent and liable for keeping your child in an unsafe condition which led to his hospitalization. Your "guess" is that you should blame yourself for not moving out of the unsafe environment.
